the white temple

When you are in Chiang Rai, it is a necessity to visit the white temple "wat rong khun".

As the name states, the temple is completely white and the art has spectacular details.

The temple was built by the rich artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, who has near the temple a museum in which he exhibits his art and shows his course of life.

Nice detail: the lavatory building looks like a palace and is completely gold colored.

Entrance fee Wat Rong Khun: 100 baht (approximately 3 euro) for "farang", free entrance for Thai

the blue temple

A bit less spectacular but also worth visiting is the blue temple "wat rong seur ten".

The main color is blue and contrary to the white temple there is free entrance.
